Hi all! It may still be Summer, but it’s already getting chillier here in Chicago. Fitting that this months Bad Apple Artist Collective theme for our monthly auction is ” Creatures of the night”. My acrylic painting of the same name was a blast to make, and I hope you’ll enjoy the speed painting video I made for it below!
This original work has sold, but there will be prints available for purchase via Etsy soon.
Hi all! I am going to be in the Anti Valentines day show at Dream In Plastic Gallery this upcoming Saturday , February 14th. Along with my fellow bad apple artists, there will be others joining us in this show. Artwork is available to purchase by contacting the gallery directly at Dreaminplastic.com.
I also made a speed painting video for this piece, and I did something different. I did a black and white underlayer before starting, though I did it in graphite and thinned it out with water using an old technique I used to apply in college. Next time, if I do an under painting, I will do it in actual paint instead of graphite. I always think it’s good to experiment!
If you guys have been following me this week, you may have seen I have been working on my piece for this months Bad Apple Auction, Chang’e and the Jade Rabbit . The auction starts in just a few moments at the Bad Apple Facebook Page – and runs until the 31st, unless someone chooses the “Buy it now” option– so if you are interested, that is the way to go! Speed painting of this work below!
“Chang’e and the Jade Rabbit” ( The Woman and Rabbit of the moon) –
Work in Progress for the next Bad Apple Artist Collective Auction taking place here on Facebook on Wednesday at 5pm EST. I am making a speed painting video for this painting, so stay tuned!
I am currently working this a large scale Beauty and the Beast Commissioned painting for a client of mine. This piece is being done in acrylic paint, on wood. You may have noticed the painting has a distinct shape – my husband has but the wood to the exact shape of a reclaimed frame we made especially for this painting! I will be back with a longer video soon of the process of this painting, and the completed painting!
